Empowering Displaced Students Through Education
RiseNext is a mentoring program created by Team Eagles (Amina Mkova, Obed Korusenge Nsanzimfura, Joselyto Charite Baho Kemana, and Nimco Ibrahim) that bridges the knowledge gap for forcibly displaced high school and university students to access higher education opportunities. We won the 2024 CIEE UNHCR Student Challenge.

Cohort 1
Pilot CohortOur inaugural cohort of 4 mentees — displaced students in Rwanda guided through university applications, academic prerequisites, and financial aid navigation.
Cohort 2
Current CohortOur second cohort of 10 mentees is currently ongoing — building on lessons from Cohort 1 with expanded mentorship, university transition support, and career readiness coaching.
